2023 Halloweens Lantern Festival

In the fall of last year, Jacksonville Magazine and the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens joined creative forces to host a new event for the city, a glowing nighttime party with a “Day of the Dead”-themed event that made the nature park twinkle and shine for two wonderful evenings. This year, we’re at again with the inaugural Halloween Lanterns Festival, set for October 27 and 28.

This two-night, family friendly event will illuminate the trails of the 120-acre Arboretum, a truly unique natural gem of Jacksonville. Guests will enjoy myriad entertainment opportunities including music, food trucks, adult libations, kids’ movies, silent disco, a scavenger hunt, and more. Luminary bags will pepper the landscape, glowing lanterns will hang from trees, and laser lights will be projected up into the forest—all creating a magical nighttime experience.

In addition, each guest will receive a paper lantern and light to carry throughout the park, allowing each person to add to the glowing spectacle. Plus, we’ll host two Lantern Parades each evening. The parades will wind around the Arboretum’s entire “BOOO-tanical” Lake Loop. This year’s event is a celebration of Halloween, so don’t forget to dress up and join in the festivities. Tickets are now on sale and attendance is limited.
