Since 2014, Jacksonville Magazine and the Jax Moms Blog have hosted the Family Foodie Fare, an event that specializes in gourmet eats for both kids and parents. The event is a fun twist on a typical restaurant tasting. Each year, approximately a dozen local restaurants prepare two dishes—one for kids, the other for grownups—and guests are invited to sample both. After tasting, votes are tallied, with the top two dishes in each category being named the big winners. Of course, the real winners are the guests who get to indulge in plates of creative pizza, burgers and ice cream. In addition to the delish eats, the party always features live music and family activities.
