The Food Network's popular show Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives has brought success to local restaurants all over the country, including Jacksonville's own Culhane's Irish Pub. Thanks to the publicity, the restaurant receives patrons from all over the U.S. If you missed Guy Fieri's visit to the First Coast pub, it's set to re-air Sept. 6 at 10:30 PM, Sept. 7 at 1:30 AM and Sept. 17 at 9:30 PM on The Food Network.

Norman+Studios+Silent+Film+Museum
The Norman Studios Silent Film Museum is a crucial piece of Jacksonville’s history. From 1910 through the 1920s, Jacksonville was at the center of U.S. filmmaking. Middleburg native Richard Norman played a large role in breaking the industry’s racial barrier with films that starred black actors in non-stereotypical, positive roles. Get involved in the restoration of this historic building with the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s “This Place Matters Community Challenge,” which will award $25,000 to the project that wins the most support online. Talbot+Island+
Talbot Island State Parks, part of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, invites Jacksonville residents to explore the local natural environment throughout the month of September. This series of events will provide the chance for visitors to learn about the wildlife and vegetation of North Florida’s barrier islands. Events include opportunities to learn about the life cycle of sea turtles with a park ranger, a reading of A Day in the Salt Marsh by Kevin Kurtz, and a look at historical artifacts of the Talbot Islands.
