| Decisions%2C+decisions+and+more+decisions.+Planning+a+wedding+means+a+non-stop+stream+of+decisions.+At+the+TPC+Sawgrass+Wedding+Tasting+2010%2C+35+brides+and+some+grooms+were+asked+to+start+considering+some+of+the+most+important+decisions+regarding+their+big+day.+Accompanied+by+parents%2C+friends+and+wedding+planners%2C+the+lucky+couples+were+wined+and+dined+by+a+constant+flow+of+delicious+eats+from+the+TPC%27s+kitchen%97+spring+roll+hors+d%27oeuvres+to+grilled+scallops+with+a+lobster+butter+sauce.+The+afternoon+began+in+the+Groom+Room.+Options+like+hamburger+sliders%2C+beer+and+ice+cream+were+provided+to+ensure+male+happiness.+Guests+were+then+invited+to+partake+in+various+wines+before+taking+their+seats+in+the+grand+ballroom+for+the+dinner+tasting.+To+complete+the+afternoon%2C+Classic+Cakes+provided+dessert%2C+as+no+wedding+is+complete+without+it.+If+you+weren%27t+lucky+enough+to+attend%2C+here%27s+some+of+what+you+missed%3A+ |

| The+Sawgrass+Golf+Resort+%26+Spa+was+transformed+into+Wine+Country+for+the+eighth+Ponte+Vedra+Beach+Food+%26+Wine+Fest+November+6-8%2C+sponsored+by+the+Ponte+Vedra+Beach+Chamber+of+Commerce.+The+three-day+wine+extravaganza+launched+with+%93Una+Noche+Especial%2C%94+at+which+some+75+guests+enjoyed+a+four-course+Argentinean+tasting+menu+prepared+by+chef+David+Scalise+paired+with+the+wines+of+Bodega+Navarro+Correas.+A+live+and+silent+auction+awarded+a+lucky+winner+with+a+six-night+trip+to+Argentina+for+a+special+tour+of+the+winery.+A+portion+on+the+proceeds+were+donated+to+The+Cultural+Center+at+Ponte+Vedra+Beach. |

| Jacksonvillians+were+out+in+force+%28despite+the+rain%29+for+the+11th+annual+Jacksonville+Humane+Society%27s+Toast+to+the+Animals+at+the+Florida+Theater+on+August+14.+The+event+featured+an+international+wine+tasting+which+included+wines+from+Germany%2C+Hungary%2C+Chile%2C+and+North+Carolina.+Also%2C+restaurants+such+as+Maggianos+and+Gumbo+Ya+Ya%27s+served+up+tasty+eats+like+meat+lasagna%2C+hot+artichoke+souffl%E9%2C+and+Jack+Daniel%27s+bread+pudding.+In+addition+to+enjoying+a+veritable+smorgasbord+of+food+and+wine%2C+participants+bid+in+silent+and+live+auctions+for+items+including+a+two-night+trip+to+the+Silverton+Casino+and+Lodge+in+Las+Vegas+and+a+three-night+vacation+at+the+Amelia+Island+Plantation.+Of+course%2C+all+in+attendance+were+there+to+help+the+animals+and+many+furry+friends+in+Northeast+Florida+benefited+from+the+event. |

| Nita+and+Ian%27s+journey+as+the+winner%27s+of+our+inaugural+Great+Wedding+Giveaway+contest+began+in+the+summer+of+2008.+Thats+when+they+decided+to+take+the+chance+and+register+for+this+truly+once-in-a-lifetime+prize+package+-+nearly+%2440%2C000+in+wedding+services+and+a+five-day+honeymoon+in+the+Caribbean.+More+than+60+couple+registered+and+qualified+for+entry+in+the+contest.+That+group+was+trimmed+to+ten+couples%2C+who+were+asked+to+come+to+the+Jacksonville+Magazine+offices+and+be+interviewed+by+our+selection+panel.+Next%2C+four+finalist+couples+were+chosen+to+compete+the+night+of+December+12+in+a+%22game+show%22%2C+from+which+the+grand+prize+winner+would+be+selected.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AThat+evening+emcees+Cole+Pepper+and+2008+Miss+Florida+USA+Jessica+Minch+presided+over+%22The+Nearlywed+Game%2C%22+a+live+event+presented+in+front+of+an+audience+of+more+than+150.+The+four+participating+couples+had+to+be+prepared+for+almost+anything%2C+as+the+questions+asked+were+in+the+spirit+of+a+cheesy+1970s+game+show.+Needless+to+say%2C+several+questions+in+the+two-round+competition+involved+the+phrase%2C+%22making+whoopee.%22%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AOur+semi-finalist+couples+-+Nita+Sinden+and+Ian+Hurley%2C+Ryan+Ketterman+and+Monica+Mia+Hiday%2C+Lauren+Brooks+and+Brian+Imhulse%2C+and+Kathleen+Holland+and+Brian+Triggs+-+competed+fiercely.+At+the+conclusion+of+two+rounds%2C+the+game+ended+in+a+two-way+tie.+The+tiebreaker+came+down+to+three+questions%2C+with+the+question+%22The+perfect+wife+%28fill+in+the+blank%29%22+being+the+decider.+In+the+end%2C+it+was+Ian+who+answered+correctly%2C+saying+%22loves.%22+Ian%27s+response+secured+them+the+Golden+Cake+Topper+trophy+and+the+prize+package+of+complimentary+wedding+services. |

| %3Ci%3EInaugural+Great+Wedding+Giveaway+couple+enjoys+a+day+they+will+never+forget.%3C%2Fi%3E%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0ANita+Sinden+and+Ian+Hurley%92s+story+together+began+at+Lynch%92s+Irish+Pub+in+Jacksonville+Beach.+Not+the+most+romantic+of+places%2C+for+sure%2C+but+it+is+fun+and+usually+draws+a+lively+crowd.+From+the+beginning%2C+there+was+an+undeniable+attraction+between+the+Jacksonville+Magazine%92s+Great+Wedding+Giveaway+winners%2C+and+they+exchanged+numbers+that+very+night.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AThe+couple+dated+for+three+years+before+Ian+popped+the+question.+On+the+weekend+of+her+25th+birthday.+As+the+two+walked+down+the+Jacksonville+Beach+pier%2C+a+plane+flew+overhead+with+a+banner+attached+that+said%2C+%93Nita%2C+will+you+marry+me.+Ian.%94+With+strangers+all+around%2C+Nita+accepted%2C+and+the+newly+engaged+couple+was+set+to+plan+a+wedding.+Little+did+they+know+they+would+soon+win+the+wedding+of+their+dreams.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0ANita+and+Ian+exchanged+vows+the+evening+of+June+1+at+the+Serenata+Beach+Club+in+Ponte+Vedra+Beach.+With+the+sun+setting+and+the+Atlantic+Oceans+as+the+background%2C+the+groomsmen+emerged+from+the+beach+in+tan+suits+and+flip-flops%2C+reflecting+the+couple%92s+laid-back+attitudes%2C+and+fitting+nicely+with+the+oceanside+locale.+A+string+quartet+ushered+in+the+bridal+party%2C+all+wearing+aqua+knee-length+dresses.+Then%2C+the+bride%2C+accompanied+by+both+parents%2C+walked+down+the+aisle.+Ian+could+not+take+his+eyes+off+Nita%2C+who+wore+a+cream-colored+strapless+gown+and+a+flower+in+her+hair+as+the+perfect+complement.+%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AThe+couple+kept+things+personal+and+had+the+Rev.+David+Brown%2C+a+family+friend%2C+administer+the+nuptials.+During+the+ceremony%2C+each+groomsman+and+bridesmaid+read+a+statement+about+love+and+marriage.+While+the+bridal+party+made+sentimental+statements%2C+the+groomsmen+gave+more+humorous+words+of+advice+such+as%2C+%93The+secret+to+a+happy+marriage+remains+a+secret.%94+Needless+to+say%2C+everyone+enjoyed+a+few+good+laughs+during+the+ceremony.+A+couple+of+tears+were+shed%2C+too.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AAfter+the+couple%92s+long+awaited+first+kiss+as+husband+and+wife%2C+Ian+and+Nita+took+a+few+moments+to+celebrate+with+immediate+family%2C+while+guests+snacked+on+cheese%2C+fruit+and+crackers.+Then%2C+it+was+time+to+celebrate.+The+newlyweds+kicked+off+the+reception+with+their+first+dance+to+Michael+Buble%92s+%93Everything.%94+About+95+guests+were+seated+at+tables+adorned+with+coral+flowers%2C+candles+and+tags+with+locations+significant+to+the+pair.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AAn+abundance+of+food+and+music+had+family+and+friends+dining+and+dancing+the+night+away.+Inside%2C+guests+ate+finger+foods+that+included+ahi+tuna%2C+mini+crab+cakes+and+lamb+chops.+The+buffet+dinner+of+a+variety+of+pastas%2C+ham+and+carved+roast+beef+was+served+outside+overlooking+the+ocean.+In+keeping+with+the+beach+theme%2C+the+five-tier+wedding+cake+was+decorated+with+starfish+and+seashells.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0AOn+their+way+out%2C+guests+were+given+personalized+CDs+with+songs+picked+by+the+bride+and+groom+and+cookies+decorated+with+their+picture.+After+a+night+of+celebration%2C+the+newlyweds+slipped+away+and+prepared+for+their+five-day+honeymoon+trip+to+Turks+%26+Caicos. |

| A+few+summer+rain+showers+couldn%27t+dampen+the+enthusiasm+of+the+approximately+100+guests+who+turned+out+Wednesday+night+%28July+29%29+in+Avondale+for+a+party+officially+releasing+the+August+edition+of+Jacksonville+Magazine+and+the+fall+edition+of+Bride.+The+invitation-only+soiree+drew+a+standing-room-only+crowd+to+neighboring+shops+J.+Ashley+and+Vue.+Guests+noshed+on+fresh+fruit+arrangements+and+hummus+dip%2C+while+partaking+in+wine+and+Jacksonville+Magazine%27s+very+own+cocktail+creation%2C+a+potent+mix+we+dubbed+the+%22JaxTini.%22+The+tables+adorned+with+fresh-made+cupcakes+were+a+hit%2C+too.+%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0ASpecial+thanks+to+all+our+clients+who+made+the+evening+possible%2C+especially+J.+Ashley+and+Vue+Optical+Boutique%2C+Riverside+Liquors%2C+Edible+Arrangements%2C+The+Casbah+and+Sivada%27s+Cupcakery+%28formerly+Vanilla%27s%29.+And+thanks+to+those+who+contributed+goodies+for+the+gift+bags+handed+out+at+evening%27s+end.%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0D%0A |
