So this morning the three of us brides trekked out to Memorial Park down in Riverside at 7:30am. It was such a beautiful park, and a smokey free morning. (Those are becoming far and few between in Jacksonville). After completing the challenge of parallel parking I met up with Jackie and we completed some strength & flexibility exercises to have a baseline. Needless to say I could only do about 14 pushups, and less than 30 situps. I say oh well, that is just more motivation for me to work even harder to get into shape. I definitely hope to say after these twelve weeks that I can do A LOT more of both pushups and situps.
After our exercises, we walked a mile with the Shannon Miller Lifestyle Group. They meet in Memorial Park every Wednesday for walking and exercising. So anyone who is interested definitely feel free to come join us!! Shannon talked to us about setting long term and short term goals for our twelve week journey, and I am beginning to brainstorm. I think an excellent long term goal for myself is to truly develop a healthier lifestyle particularly eating habits! Over the next few days I will be developing short goals to help me get to that point, so feel free to leave me any advice you have.
Once I got home from our morning exercise I decided to hop on my bike and go for a short twenty minute bike ride around my neighborhood. Nothing too extensive, but I did have a lot of momentum and energy so I wanted to keep it going. Now I am home and showered at 10am, and I already have about 5,000 steps on my pedometer, and I have drank over 35 ounces of water already; GO ME :)
All of us Brides to be at Memorial Park
END OF THE DAY UPDATE: Over 9,000 steps on the pedometer, and over 99 ounces of water. I am very proud of myself!
