Caring Chefs is the first, largest and best food and wine-tasting event in Jacksonville. More than a quarter-of-a-century after its inaugural event, there have been many others to come along, but still none compares to Caring Chefs.
This year’s event is the 28th Annual Caring Chefs and isSunday, October 23, 7-9:30 p.m., at The Avenues Mall. Through the years, it has raised more than $2.4 million for Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) from the generosity, time and talent of the area’s restaurants, chefs, sponsors, volunteers and supporters.
With more than 60 of the First Coast’s best restaurants, caterers, specialtyshops and wine vendors participating, it is certainly a night you don’t want to miss. For two-and-a-half hours patrons will have the opportunity to go from booth to booth sampling the best entrées,desserts, salads, appetizers and soups Jacksonville has to offer—all for only $60. Plus, with a sell-out crowd of more than 2,000, you never know whom you’ll see while enjoying live entertainment, all to stop the generational cycle of abuse and neglect for more and more children.
Dozens of local chefs showcase their specialties including some new menu items so Jacksonville foodies get the dish on the latest trends. Most importantly, this is a great way to help raise money to continue programs and services for more than 2,500 children and families who benefit from CHS every day. Because the venue, food and beverages are donated, 100 percent of ticket proceeds go to children and families helped through CHS programs. All who participate—restaurants, sponsors, patrons and more than 250 volunteers—enjoy a wonderful evening that ultimately helps the community’s most fragile children.
Because demand is so high for this event and it sells out every year, patrons are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets well in advance. Tickets are $60 per person, which includes admission, food, beverage, live entertainment and much more. That’s just about $1 per restaurant. Depending on demand, tickets may not be availableat the door the night of the event. Sponsorship packages start at$1,500 and include limited access to the VIP pre-party.
