back in my day we was so poor all we ate was corn since we lived next to a corn field and mama would go over and pick enough for the evenings supper. my younger brother willy once ate 77 ears of corn in one sitting after being punished for runnin off and locked in the toolshed for 3 days with only water. aint nobody had a timepiece back then so no tellin how long it took him to eat all that corn but i can tell you the toilet was a big ole heap of mess for the next 4 days. mama was tempted to bring the cow inside to graze out the toilet it was so bad. willy god rest his soul aint never eat another ear of corn after that.
