"The Gendarme" Book Signing
Author Mark Mustian's new novel The Gendarme, the story of a badly injured former Turkish soldier living in rural Georgia who slowly begins to remember his time at war, comes to town for a book signing later this month. The ex-soldier, Emmett Conn, comes to grasp a terrible truth: he helped police one of the most brutal marches in history.Mustian is an attorney and a member of the Tallahassee city council. I had my TV on mute and happened to look up to see "JOHN MCCAIN'S AIDS" in the closed captioning. It should have said "aides," of course, but this unfortunate transcription error did inspire The Specktator to add a new category to the blog, cleverly titled "Unfortunate Transcripts."
