On September 14-16, St. Augustine Fashion Week presents "MODA Alcazar" at the historic Lightner Museum, formerly known as the Hotel Alcazar. Combining fashion and fine art in one of St. Augustine's most unique buildings, 18 small-brand designers will share their Spring/Summer 2017 Collections.
The fashion event was inspired by the incredibly talented small-brand designers in the Northeast Florida area. Many of the local designers were growing and thriving in the fashion world, but without the marketing aspect, very few were getting the attention they deserved. Without a credible platform, small designers struggled to sell their products.
President and founder of St. Augustine Fashion Week Brittany Alphonso is the designer of Banana Bread Baby, which has been in production for seven years. "We have small brands that are producing full collections here in the North Florida area that deserve a proper platform to share their work and take their business to the next level," she says. "Connecting them with wholesale buyers and consumers will be of great importance as they continue to make their brand known."
