A coastal favorite, the Jekyll Island Shrimp and Grits Festival combines the classic southern dish with family-friendly entertainment. With more than 100 art and craft vendors, live music, a kids’ zone and more, it's no surprise this gathering brings more than 40,000 visitors to the island.
While entry to the festival is free for all ages, there are a whole host of special events and areas to upgrade your experience.
Craft Brew Fest presented by Southern Eagle Distributing is the perfect stop for those craving more stronger libations. This festival within a festival takes place at the Morgan Center in the Jekyll Island Historic District. Brew enthusiasts will enjoy the taste and craftsmanship of breweries from all over the state of Georgia. Ticket price includes 10 drink tickets and your very own souvenir tasting glass.
Those looking for a more relaxed and scenic venue can stroll over to the DuBignon Lounge presented by Ocean Oaks. Guests receive a private tour and use of the porch at DuBignon Cottage, built in 1884. The lounge experience also gives guests daily entrance to the island, on-site festival parking, a private tent located in the heart of the festival, drink tickets and much more.
Revelers who are still looking for a more luxurious adventure during the festival don't have far to go. The VIP Experience presented by Atlanta Magazine gives guests the best and most exclusive experience. A private tent, with elevated floor and ample fans to stay dry and cool in case of weather, provides a prime view of the Main Stage. The features go on with VIP access to Rockefeller's winter home, Indian Mound Cottage, unlimited wine and beer, daily catered meals and even a phone charging station.
The festival runs from September 16-18. Tickets for special events start at $20.
