The American Lung Association in Florida hosted its 18th annual gala, The White Affair, at Atlantic Beach Country Club on Saturday, June 11. Guests wore their best “beach chic whites” while enjoying live music by Cloud 9, food and drinks and silent and live auctions. The event raised over $83K for lung cancer research to help fight lung disease, the number one killer of cancer among men and women in the U.S. Guest speaker Dannielle Leach surprised her mother as she gave a speech about how lung disease personally impacts her life. She was diagnosed with asthma as a child and her grandmother passed away from lung cancer. Funds raised support vital lung health research being conducted locally at Nemours, create the opportunity for children with asthma to attend Camp Boggy Creek and fund lung cancer research.
