Great Chefs of Jacksonville VI was held at TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse on March 3. The evening consisted of a Cocktail Shakeoff and four-course dinner with wine pairing that pitted chefs from the Beaches against those from restaurants in the City.
Team City included Orsay's Jason Eddy, chef Scotty Schwartz from Bullbriar, chef Tom Gray from Moxie Kitchen & Cocktails, chef Sam Efron from Taverna and chef Waylon Rivers from Black Sheep. Team Beaches was Hugh Thompson of Azurea Lounge at One Ocean Resort, chef Marvyn Mizell of Nineteen at TPC Sawgrass, chef Josh Agan from Flying Iguana, chef Ed Baltzley from Palm Valley Fish Camp and chef Trey Hartinger from Marker 32. WJXT news anchor Bruce Hamilton served as event emcee. Music was provided by Kyle Wehner. Proceeds from Great Chefs went to Feeding Northeast Florida.
Though it was by a razor-thin margin, Team City kept the coveted trophy with dishes like the parmesan and truffle gnocchi with crab fondue and asparagus and raspberry-chocolate mousse with toasted raspberry marshmallows and raspberry sandwich cookies.
