Author Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird has returned to the national spotlight with the 2015 release of a hotly-debated sequel and the author's recent passing. The 1962 film adaptation of that beloved book will be screened at "To Kill A Mockingbird - An Evening with Scout presented by St. Johns Reads" on Saturday, February 27, at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, preceded by a special guest.
Academy award nominated actress Mary Badham, who played the character of Scout, will appear before the film to discuss her on-set experiences, her lifelong friendship with Gregory Peck and the legacy of Harper Lee. Ms. Badham speaks at 6pm and the film shows at 7pm.
Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets to cuddle up in case the weather gets a little chilly. The event is free. staugamphitheatre.com
