The First Coast might be getting a little more crowded over the next couple of weeks. According to research done by CheapTickets.com, Jacksonville has become a popular destination for spring break on a budget for up-and-comers age 25-34.

With an average daily hotel rate of $106 (50% below the average rate) and average airfare at $293, Jacksonville is appealing to those wanting a sun-filled spring break away from all of the college partiers at popular areas like Panama City Beach or Daytona Beach. If airfare isn’t the easiest way too coordinate travel, road trips are the next best options for groups to travel together.

“This year, with gas prices the lowest they’ve been in some time, road trips dominate as nearly two-thirds of those planning to travel are driving to their destination, and most people, regardless of demographic, have their sights set on Florida or California,” said Brian Wolf, general manager of CheapTickets.com. “That being said, there are a lot of other great options that are within driving distance from different regions of the country that will allow for greater savings and new experiences.”
