Charity Events Round-Up, Oct. 23-26

Fall is the season for charitable events on the First Coast. Golf tournaments, galas, 5Ks and festivals—just about any way you want to help out a cause, it's probably available this month. Or even in one week, as the following sampling of events over only four days illustrates.

This two-day affair hosted by Junior League of Jacksonville consists of four primary events: a luncheon kick-off on Friday afternoon with featured guest speakers; Friday night is the Girls Night Out party; Saturday guests can attend a media/bloggers breakfast and Saturday afternoon a fashion show closes out the fun. Red Shield Ball

Fall Daddy-Daughter Dance

This sixth annual OceanWise event will serve as a fundraiser to support the mission of protecting and preserving the ocean and estuary resources. This event takes place overlooking the Guana River as guests dine on seafood from local restaurants. 823-4527,

Golf Classic

At this Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville fundraiser players enjoy 18 holes of golf on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Afterward, players are treated to a reception complete with a silent and live auction. Proceeds benefit the families of critically and chronically ill and injured children.
