Not-So-Scary Halloween Activities

Not into haunted trails where guys in masks jump out from behind trees brandishing chainsaws? That's okay, we get it. There are plenty of Halloween-related activities out there which don't involve developing a heart condition, but are still a little spooky and may or may not involve free candy.

Third annual Trick or Treat on the Street
October 30 | 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM | Hemming Park | Free

Downtown Vision, Inc. invites you to dress up and make your way around downtown to trick or treat with more than 20 local businesses. Art for the non-artist continues to gain in popularity, and several of these events around town this week have a Halloween theme. This one at Whiskey Jax allows attendees to paint a spooky tree while partaking in cocktails (140+whiskeys, 24 beer taps and full bar), food (including rooster braised brisket) and music. Pictures in the Park

Modeled after a similar event that started in Paris, the pop up is a communal dinner party where nobody (except the organizers) knows the location until an hour before the start of dinner. PB&J's Dinner with the Dead pop-up picnic may include some other ghoulish surprises, too. In order to participate, either you or one of your friends will sign up as a table captain. Each table captain will be responsible for organizing your dinner party (i.e. table) of six. Halloween Howler 5K
